The Known World, by Edward P. Jones
Weaving together the lives of freed and enslaved blacks, whites and Indians, set in Virginia in 1800s this book gives us a deeper understanding of the world created by the institution of slavery. Our May Selection.
I am a horsewoman. It means a lot more than just that I love my horse. It has to do with how I look at life. How I react to my surroundings. What I want from my life. How I treat others and how I would like to be treated in return.
