Ok lets try again...Here are some interesting books recommended by a woman working at the used book store in Sutherlin.

Refuge: Unnatural History of Family and Place by Terry Tempest Williams
Read reveiw at www.lanecc.edu/readingtogether/2005-06/books.html#refugesummary

Riding the Iron Rooster by Paul Theroux
Read reveiw at www.paultheroux.com/books/book.php?book=107

Books by Author Phillipa Gregory
See her website at www.philippagregory.com/us-books/index.php
I know these look like romance novels but actually I think they are more about English history from a woman living at that time.

My favorite novel is 'Ahab's Wife, or the Stargazer,' by Sena Jeter Naslund.

My all-time favorite non-fiction is 'Wild Swans, Three Daughters of China,' by Jung Chang.

Both are beautifully written and would make good "discussion" books.
